The Airtel DTH is one of the largest DTH providers in the country with millions of customers. The Airtel Xstream set-top boxalso has the capability of streaming 4K definition content to your Television and if your television supports it you can enjoy it through the Xstream box. The Airtel Xstream Box is also reverse compatible to play the HD and SD channels on the television. This includes the Free to Air channel or the FTA channels that have been specified by the telecom regulatory body TRAI to be included by all DTH providers. The FTA channels are also available with the Airtel DTH to the customers who can add them to their plan by just paying the network capacity fee of INR 153. By paying the network capacity fee the customers can add up to 200 FTA channels to their monthly plan. This also makes INR 153 the minimum recharge that the customers have to make to continue their DTH services uninterrupted.

The customers can add these channels by following the simple process of sending the SMS with the text “ADD <channel number>” to 54325 from the registered mobile number. If the customer does not have the registered mobile with them, they can also send the text “ADD <channel number> ID <customer ID>” to 54325. The OTP will be sent to the mobile number and the customer has to send another SMS with the text “TOP<space><OTP number>” to 54325. The customer ID of the customer can be acquired by pressing the Menu button on their STB remote and looking at the bottom. As there is no subscription period that the customer needs to maintain they can change the channels anytime. Customers can also visit channel 999 on their Airtel STB to learn how to manage their account including adding a channel to their plan. It should be noted that the mandatory DD channels are not included in the FTA channels list and are over and above.

For the services on the Airtel Xstream Box to work, the customers have to ensure that they recharge their account with the minimum amount of INR 150 and more to keep their services active and working.
