Netgear Extender Setup Using WPS

  • Place your Netgear EX3700 extender in the same room as of your router.
  • Ensure that you have a live and uninterrupted internet connection coming from your main router.
  • Plug the Netgear EX3700 extender into a working electrical outlet and wait for the Power LED to become solid green. If the extender’s power LED does not turn ON, press the On/Off (power) button on the side panel of your EX3700.
  • Press and hold the WPS button on your Netgear WiFi range extender. The WPS LED starts blinking.
  • Press the WPS button on your router, gateway, or access point (AP) as well.
  • Move your Netgear EX3700 extender to your preferred location. Make sure your EX3700 is in range of your WiFi router or access point.
  • Now, you can connect your WiFi-enabled devices to the new extended network i.e. Netgear_ext and enjoy the blazing-fast WiFi speed like never before.

Important

Prior to using this method, make sure that your WiFi router is WPS capable. In the event that your router isn’t WPS capable, try installing your Netgear extender manually.

Netgear Extender Setup Using Manual Method

  • Plug your Netgear EX3700 extender into a working power outlet and wait for some time for the power LED to become green.
  • Once done, connect your Netgear extender to your router using an Ethernet cable. You can also make a WiFi connection between your Netgear extender and router.
  • Once your Netgear extender is connected to your router’s network, the Device LED will start blinking.
  • Open an internet browser on a PC or laptop and enter mywifiext.net in the address bar. If you are using an Apple, MacBook, iPhone, iPad or an iOS device for the configuration of your Netgear extender, use mywifiext.local web address.
  • Once done, press the Enter key,
  • Click on NEW EXTENDER SETUP button, complete the fields on Extender Setup screen and click on Next.
  • Hit the WIFI RANGE EXTENDER button, select the WiFi network that you would like to extend, and then click on NEXT to apply the changes. 
  • Now, enter the WiFi Password or network key in the passphrase field and click on NEXT.
  • Connect your wireless and wired devices to the extender and click on Continue.
  • Fab! Your Netgear EX3700 extender is now configured.
  • Click on Finish and save the changes.
