Apart from being fun, travelling is also a good school of learning. During your trip, learn a lot about the people and their habits. You will often discover the most excellent places in the country of destination; for example, Dublin’s historical sites or landmarks are the best destinations in Ireland.
This applies in your own country, but certainly abroad. A bit of culture can never hurt. Travelling is also exploring and you might even gain information about a new place to live or to do business.
Travelling also means feeling, because when you return you often feel homesick, for example for the peace and quiet you had at your holiday destination. It is also independence because you have no obligations such as cleaning or working. And it is also understanding other thoughts and feelings. Every country has its own characteristics and so do its people.
What are some other advantages of travelling?
As we have already discussed, there are many more examples of travelling. You learn to understand other people and because you are independent you also interact with people in a different way.
For example, you often notice that peace and understanding are much greater in an unknown country. But you also don’t have to be ashamed of anything because you are only here for one week a year. It is also a great way for students to learn about cultures.
That is why they often come here for a few months so that they can understand culture and art. Communication is more difficult and it is therefore also an art to make yourself understandable in another country. Fortunately, most people speak English, so the language barrier has become less in recent years.
Learning by travelling
You learn a lot when you travel. Every culture has its own customs, times and feelings. You also learn to look at things through someone else’s eyes. Often, you also learn to speak another language in the process. Or what about your hands and feet work to make yourself understandable.
You may be independent but you are also vulnerable because you often do not have all the means to communicate. So it is a great learning experience to make yourself understood and you often immerse yourself in the culture or architecture of another country.
Why is travelling fun?
Travelling is often done for fun and at least once a year to get away from all the stress. With families, it is also fun to take a holiday to countries where there is a lot to do for the children. Think for example of a hotel with a swimming pool and children’s entertainment. But also students often travel abroad for a boozy holiday.
However, there are also plenty of options for students to do an internship abroad. You can get to know the culture. And what about a trip around the world when you are older? Travelling is suitable for both young and old!
