How to Log in to Netgear IP 192.168.1.250: The Complete Guide

198.168.1.250 is the default Netgear IP used to log in to your range extender and configure its settings as per your requirements. This IP falls in the range of class C IP addresses. In other words, you can access this IP address within the reach of a private network.

This write-up will help you log in to Netgear IP 192.168.1.250 for your WiFi range extender. Let’s take the plunge.

Steps to Log In to 192.168.1.250

Below given is a step-by-step guide to log in to 192.168.1.250, i.e. Netgear default IP:

Step 1 – Place Your WiFi Extender

First and foremost, you need to find the correct placement for your Netgear extender. Here, from the word ‘correct’, we mean a central location in your home away from interference-creating objects. Microwaves, refrigerators, Bluetooth speakers, cordless phones, baby monitors, glasses, and mirrors are some examples of the interference-creating objects. Therefore, keep the extender at a certain distance away from such devices.

Step 2 – Power On Your Extender

Once done with the placement, the next step is to power on your Netgear wireless range extender. Just connect the power adapter of your extender to the wall outlet and switch it on. Let the power LED of the extender become solid green.

Step 3 – Connect The Extender

After turning on your Netgear extender, take the Ethernet cable that came within its box. Insert the one end of the cable into your extender whereas another end to the home WiFi router. Ensure to create the wired connection finger-tight and accurate.

Step 4 – Access A Web Browser

Switch on your computer or laptop. You need a web browser to access the mywifiext setup web page. So, install a web browser on your system (if you don’t have the one already!)

It is recommended to use the Google Chrome browser for Windows OS or Safari for Mac OS X. Simply open your preferred web browser by double-clicking on its icon.

Step 5 – Log in to Your Extender

Now, in the browser’s address bar, type https://192.168.1.250 and press the Enter key. Doing so will open the Netgear extender login page in front of you.

Fill in the admin username and passphrase and click on the Log In button.

Step 6 – You’re Done!

Cheers! You have successfully logged into 192.168.1.250, i.e. Netgear extender default IP. Now, you can configure your extender’s settings as per your liking.

But what if 192.168.1.250 Netgear IP not working for you? Gotcha! We have also covered the relevant troubleshooting tips to fix the issue. Read on.

Troubleshooting Tips For 192.168.1.250 Not Working

  • Reboot your Netgear wireless range extender once and try again.
  • Ensure that you have placed your extender in the correct manner.
  • The cable connection between your extender and router should not be loose.
  • Check whether the Netgear IP you have entered doesn’t contain any sort of typing errors.
  • Keep in mind to enter the Netgear IP 192.168.1.250 into the address bar only, not in the search bar.
  • Try using mywifiext.net web address rather than the IP for logging into your Netgear range extender.
