Intro
The knowledge of how to extract pages from PDF for free is something that is known to people who work with PDFs regularly. It is not hard to do with the right tool. Users can easily load a PDF into their preferred PDF editing tool and extract the pages they need easily. The process does not require a lot of time or effort and can be done in only a few clicks. Users will need to download, sign-up, or register for a particular tool, which lets them extract, delete or merge different PDF pages all in the same document. From there it is a matter of finding the specific process to that particular tool to be able to extract PDF pages for free.
Step 1: Sign-In or Create an Account
For users of online PDF editors, the first step in being able to extract PDF pages for free is to sign-up for a program that features a PDF extractor tool. The tool has become so invaluable that almost all major PDF editing programs have an extractor tool available. Users need to research which tools let them extract PDF pages, although not all of them will allow it for free.
A program like Lumin PDF does let users extract, delete, split or merge PDFs for free just by registering with the program. Lumin PDF does offer more advanced, premium features if users want to sign-up for a weekly, monthly, or yearly subscription, but extracting pages is a free feature.
Step 2: Choose a File
If using the Lumin browser, users need to simply open the file, which begins the process of extracting pages from PDF files. Once opened in the browsers, users must:
- Look in the right-hand corner for the Page Tools icon
- Click the Page Tools icon
- The Page Tools sidebar will appear on the left-hand side
- Select the Split/Extract option
- Enter the pages or sequence of pages to be removed
- Click Extract
The Extract feature will automatically create a new PDF file without those pages. Users can then save, send or edit that file further and even extract more pages.
Select Pages to Extract
To be sure, extracting pages from a PDF is not the same as deleting pages. Extracting pages from a PDF creates a new PDF file from those extracted pages while deleting those pages eliminates those pages. The ability to extract pages from a PDF is useful, especially when dealing with large PDF files.
In Lumin, users need to simply:
- Open the Page Tools sidebar
- Select the Split/Extract option
- Enter the pages or range of pages to be extracted
- Click Extract
Lumin will create a new PDF file from those extracted pages and leave the original file without those pages.
Download Split File
In Lumin, once the pages have been extracted the program will create a new PDF file from these extracted pages. Users can save the file, rename it or give it a new name and download it in their cloud-based storage platform. They can also share and send it with collaborators so they can work on the new file together.
