Several players including Shreyas Iyer, David Warner, Ishan Kishan, Deepak Chahar and Faf du Plessis were purchased by the franchises for whopping amounts and they will look to repay it by performing well for their respective franchises. Let us have a look at the best XI from the sold players.

Faf du Plessis (c) (RCB)

It would have been a shattering news for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) fans as the franchise was not able to buy back their long-standing opener. Du Plessis, who is likely to lead his new franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), will look to emulate his performance as he has done for the yellow army. David Warner (DC)

A strong contender for Orange Cap in IPL 2022, Delhi Capitals managed to purchase Australian opener David Warner for INR 6.25 crore in the mega auction. The left-handed batsman led Sunrisers Hyderabad to win the IPL title few years back and his valuable insights can help Pant. The 35-year-old batsman has played 150 matches in the tournament with 5449 runs to his name. Adding on, he has a strike rate of 139.97.

Shreyas Iyer (KKR)

Prolific batter Shreyas Iyer will be leading Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2022 season after he was purchased by the franchise at a total sum of INR 12.25 crore. The right-handed batsman has scored 2,375 runs in 87 IPL games with a strike rate of 124. The batter will look to anchor the innings for KKR, while the rest of the batters can play around him. 

Ishan Kishan (Wicketkeeper) (MI) 

Wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan was the most expensive buy in the IPL 2022 mega auction with MI bagging him for a whopping amount of INR 15.25 crore. The left-handed batsman has played 61 IPL matches in which he has amassed 1,452 runs at an average of 28.47. His ball-striking ability makes him one of the most dangerous batters in the tournament. Krunal Pandya (LSG)

Effective with both bat and ball, Indian allrounder Krunal Pandya has proved his worth in past seasons of IPL. In 84 IPL matches he has played so far, the left-handed batter has scored 1,143 runs at an average of 22.41 with a good strike rate of 138.55. With the ball, the left-arm spinner has scalped a total of 51 wickets. 

Mohammad Nabi (KKR)

In what can be termed as a steal deal, Kolkata Knight Riders managed to purchase Afghanistan allrounder Mohammad Nabi at his base price of INR 1 crore. The 37-year-old holds vast experience in playing franchise cricket all around the world. In his IPL career, the right-hander has an amazing strike rate of 151.26. He also has 13 wickets under his belt. 

Deepak Chahar (CSK) 

Known for his wicket-taking ability at top of the order, pacer Deepak Chahar is a potential contender for the Purple Cap as he was bought back by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at a staggering price of INR 14 crore. Chahar has played 63 IPL games with 59 wickets to his name with an economy rate of 7.8. 

Jason Holder (LSG) 

Another potential contender for the Purple Cap, West Indies allrounder Jason Holder was purchased by Lucknow Super Giants for INR 8.75 crore in the mega auction. Holder has been a part of 26 IPL games so far and has scalped 35 wickets. In batting, Holder has scored 189 runs in the tournament.   

Shardul Thakur (DC)

After setting a base price of INR 2 crore, Shardul Thakur was bagged by Delhi Capitals for INR 10.75 crore. Known for his knack to take wickets at regular intervals, Thakur has picked 67 wickets in 61 IPL matches he has played so far. The 30-year-old does not have much to show with the bat in IPL. However, Thakur has shown his batting ability to score quickfire runs for the Indian team. 

Yuzvendra Chahal (RR)

After serving Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for the past many years, Indian leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal was purchased by Rajasthan Royals (RR) for INR 6.5 crore in the auction. Known for his ability to fox the batters, Chahal has picked 139 wickets so far with an effective economy rate of 7.59. The 31-year-old bowler has played 114 IPL matches. 

Avesh Khan (LSG)

Known for his pace and ability to swing the new cherry, pacer Avesh Khan was purchased by Lucknow Super Giants at INR 10 crore. The pacer has so far played 25 IPL matches and scalped a total of 29 wickets in the tournament. The 25-year-old has also shown his death bowling ability, while playing for Delhi Capitals in the last season of the tournament.
