Since the outburst of COVID-19 last year, travel has changed forever. The pandemic has greatly disrupted global travel and has made us all realise the importance of it more than ever. As the government is finally easing up restrictions and gradually lifting the lockdown, we can’t wait to pack our bags and leave for that much-awaited vacation. 

Though, travelling post lockdown will be a completely new experience as opposed to travelling before the pandemic. Masks and sanitisers will be our constant companions and getting our temperature checked at airports and train stations will be the new normal.

Delhi

Passengers arriving in Delhi from any other states including Maharashtra, Telangana & Andhra Pradesh are not required to carry a negative RT-PCR test report to travel. 

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also announced that the lockdown restrictions will be further eased in Delhi from today as fresh COVID-19 cases continue to decline.

Metro and buses will operate at 50% seating capacity, standing commute will not be allowed. Cabs, autos, e-rickshaws can ferry up to 2 passengers per ride. Also, there will be no curbs on inter-state movement of people and goods. This means one can freely move between Delhi and places like Ghaziabad, Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad and other NCR towns.

Karnataka

Travellers arriving in Karnataka are now no longer required to show a negative RT-PCR report. However, it is mandatory for passengers with coronavirus symptoms to carry a negative COVID report.

Himachal Pradesh

Mountains are calling! No more mandatory RT-PCR test for entering the state. Himachal Pradesh is among the most loved tourist destinations of the country and this news has brought a great deal of happiness for the travellers.

Andhra Pradesh

Planning a trip to Andhra Pradesh? There is no requirement for travellers to carry a negative RT-PCR test report for travel.

Telangana

Hurray! The state doesn’t require you to carry a negative RT-PCR test report for travel.

Haryana

As per media reports, the Haryana government has extended the curfew in the state till 21st June, but has also made some relaxations. The state doesn’t require an RT-PCR negative test report for entry. 

Travel is now opening in a phased manner, so here are some tips you must follow while travelling — 

1. Pick your destination carefully. Choose destinations where the number of cases is low. 

2. Some places require visitors to quarantine, even if they are asymptomatic. So, choose your destination accordingly or carry a report with you. 

3. Make sure you understand the safety guidelines and quarantine policies before you plan the trip.

4. Plan everything in advance. From places of stay to where all you can visit, everything should be planned in advance to ensure safe travel. 

5. Whenever you are in public, wear a mask. Keep your mask clean.

6. Use disinfectant wipes to clean your seat or anywhere you sit. 

7. If you must use cash, sanitize your hands immediately.

8. Carry reusable or any disposable cutlery in a zip-lock bag.
