Adriana Lima was born on June 12, 1981 in Salvador, Brazil. She was best known as a Victoria’s Secret Angel from 1999 to 2018. She is a popular Brazilian model and actress and also the longest-running model. She wasrenowned as “the most valuable Victoria’s Secret Angel” in 2017. Also, she is famous as a spokesmodel for Maybelline cosmetics since 2003 and Super Bowl and Kia Motors commercials. Lima won Ford’s “Supermodel of Brazil” competition at 15 and secured second place in the Ford “Supermodel of the World” competition at 16.She ranked 4th on the Forbes top-earning models list in 2012, 3rd in 2013 and world’s second highest-paid model in 2014, 2015 and 2016. Lima’s parents are Nelson Torres, a carpenterand Maria dasGracas Lima, a social worker. She was raised only by her mother as her father left the family when she was six months old. She was brought up in the CasteloBranconeighborhood of Salvador. Once she revealed that she wanted to pursue a career as a pediatricianprior to modeling.She personally identifies as an Afro-Brazilian.Lima is expert in speaking four languages: her native Portuguese, English, Italian, and Spanish.
PERSONAL LIFE:
Lima was in a relationship with American singer Lenny Kravitz from 2001 to 2003. They got engaged and she was also featured on his music video “Yesterday Is Gone (My Dear Kay).”In 2009, the model married Serbian NBA player Marko Jaric on Valentine’s Day in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. The couple has two daughters. Both announced their separation after five years of marriage on May 2, 2014 and their divorce was finalized in March 2016. She previously owned an apartment in New York City and resides in Miami.
